The Cause
There are few people in Ireland who haven't been touched in some way by the devastating effects of cancer. In September 2009 Colly lost his dear friend Martin to testicular cancer. There have been many others along the way, some of whom are fortunate survivors. Les Dix Alpes is dedicated to the loving memory of Martin and all of those who struggle in their daily fight against the disease. It is also dedicated to all of the cancer survivors in Ireland today.

The onset of the global recession gave a considerable blow to charities everywhere, most of which saw a sharp drop in donations. Colly aims to do his bit in generating donations for two: the Irish Cancer Society (ICS) and Cancer Care West (based in the west of Ireland). All donations will go specifically towards patient care and support services, the latter of which involves counselling for patients, family members and significant others.
Lastly, Colly hopes to raise awareness about cancer and get across the message that early detection is vital.
